This tutorial will show you how to make a small star cluster type thing (lol) in Bryce 5.5
It also assumes you have a small knowledge of Bryce 5.5

You can get Bryce by clicking the link below

First open up a new document, any size will do.

Delete the ground plane

Next using the Create menu at the top of the screen create a Sphere

Create Menu

Position

Using the M go to your materials pallete and click on the arrow next to the rendered sphere in the top left hand corner.
Materials Pallete

Look in the drop down list for GlassGems. In this section look for the set called Glasses and then for the material called Glass Bubble 2. Select it and click the tick

Goto Materials

Material 1

Click the tick again to return to your main screen

Ok that's the first part done. Now make sure your sphere is selected and press Ctrl+C and then Ctrl+V on your keyboard
This should give you a sphere exactly the same as the last one, material and all.
At the top of your screen click the word 'EDIT'
This will present you with these symbols.

Edit Menu with Resize Highlighted

Clicking on any of the outside points of this icon and dragging your mouse will expand your sphere in one direction or another, however what you want to do here is to click right in the center of it and drag left, this will shrink your sphere uniformly keeping it where it has been placed.
This way you should end up with one sphere inside the other.

Sphere inside Sphere

Using the M attached to this sphere head into your materials menu, it will have the same material as th first sphere but we are about to change that.
In the same section (GlassGems>Glasses) Scroll down and look for the material called Smoked Clouds. Pick this, click the tick and then click the tick on the next screen to return to your main screen

Smoked Clouds

Once again click Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V to make a third sphere and using the edit menu resize this sphere so you end up with a sphere inside a sphere inside a sphere
Back to the materials pallete once again and still in the same material section choose the Glass Bumped 3 material and then tick and tick to return to the main screen

Glass Bumped 3

Now to make the scene a little more apt for what we are making we need to change the background to a solid black colour. Click on the arrow next to the words Sky & Fog at the top of the screen.

Sky & Fog

This should bring up the sky & fog chooser. Scroll right to the bottom of this screen and you will see a completely black icon. Choose this then click the tick to set the background colour

Sky & Fog

We're almost finished now!!
Back to the Create menu again and create a radial light. For now make sure this is in the center of your spheres.

Radial Light

Now click the E that is next to your light.

Edit Settings

This will bring up the light settings menu. Set your light to these settings.

Light Settings

When it comes to the colour of the light you will need to click and hold your mouse at the point shown below to bring up the colour selector, choose an orangey colour close to mine for now.

Colour Selector

When you are happy click the tick to return you to the main screen.
Once back on the main screen look to your camera controls on the left hand side. At the top is an icon like a Bryce mountain. This is your camera selector.
Click the arrow next to it and choose Directors View from the list that appears

Camera Selection

Now Look just below that and there should be three sets of 4 way arrows. Click and hold on the top arrow of the bottom 4 way set and drag the mouse towards you. All being well the camera should zoom in on your spheres.

Zoom in Camera

In your preview window(if it is set to render not wireframe) you should see something like this

Preview

From here you have many choices. If you render now you should see something like the picture below. You could however change the light settings, the materials on all of the sphere's practically any change will completely alter the look of this image.
You could even try playing with the camera angles, maybe zoom right in till your inside one of the spheres. The choice is endless, Enjoy!
