What you will need for this tutorial
PSP X
The artwork used in this tutorial is by Dave Nestler. You can find his work at CILM
Open a new canvas 500x500 pixels
Grab your Shape tool set to square Width 5
Draw out a square in the center of the canvas
Convert this to a raster layer
Duplicate this layer by right clicking on the vector layer and choosing the appropriate selection
Image>Free Rotate by 45 degrees in either direction with all layers unchecked and Rotate single layer around canvas center unchecked
Open up your tube and copy and paste it as a new layer
Drag this layer under the top square and position so you can see what you would like through the diamond
Select your top square(diamond) to make the layer active
Grab your Magic Wand tool *make sure contiguous is checked* and click inside the diamond
From the Main menu go to Selections>Modify>Expand set to 3 and click ok
Now choose Selections>Invert
Set the focus back to your tube layer and hit delete once
Using the layer locking icon set these three layers to 1

Grab your move tool and move the layers as one up to the top center of the canvas
Duplicate the top diamond
Move it one side so you can see it clearly
Duplicate this new diamond
Back to Free Rotate, once again by 45 degrees
Copy and paste a different tube and position it under the newest square so you can see what you would like
You could always the same tube and position differently from before
Grab you Magic wand again and click inside the square remembering to make that layer active first
Selections>Modify>Expand by 3
Selections>Invert
Go back to your tube layer and hit delete
**Hint** Always try and do this in the center of the screen that way it is easy to find bits of tube that hang over the edge of the canvas to be found and removed
Lock the three new layers into the number 2 slot
At this point to save confusion you can make all the layers except for the 3 you made first invisible and merge visible layers
Although doing this will make more complication later
Now repeat the creation of a square, diamond and tube piece twice more
Now you should have 4 sets on your canvas
One set at a time line them up so that the corners of each diamond are touching and creating a straight line between the edges but keeping to the overall diamond pattern as shown by the sample at the top

All being well you should have this shape visible in the middle of your diamond sets

Grab your shape tool and draw a square that passes through the points of each diamond

Convert this layer to a Raster Layer and place it at the bottom of the layers
Now for the complicated bit
We have to get rid of all of the unwated bits of line that are showing when all we want is white space
If you have merged all of the sets into layers then you will need to get your Freehand Selection tool set to point to point
If you didn't merge them then skip this section down to HERE
Ok zoom into your canvas and select inside the top layers so that you can delete the bottom piece from showing

Do this for all the extra lines you can see and you should be left with something that looks like the one below

Now you need to skip to HERE
------------- Non-Merged diamonds -------------
Select inside the top diamond or square of each set with your magic wand set mode to Add
Main Menu>Selections>Modify>Expand by 3
Now activate the layer holding the lower square or diamond
Hit delete and move to the next set
Repeat this for all sets and the other square you added
Now merge all layers
Using your move tool place the group at the top of your canvas and make sure it it centered
Now Grab your shape tool set to Rectangle and draw a square round the whole set and make sure it is centered
Convert to a Raster Layer
Now click on your text tool and add the name for the tag at the bottom
For this you may need to stretch the text to make it fit properly
Once again grab your shape tool set to rectangle and draw around your name making the box the same width as the square above
Note You may need to enlarge your canvas slightly to fit the text in
Ok now just add your copyright information save as a pspimage and export as jPEG and you're done
